Devotional Thoughts Vol. 1 by Carl Olaf Rosenius is a set of two paperbacks written in the great Scandinavian rival. Both sets are a daily devotional to encourage the Christian all year.

Rosenius month-month, each day devoted to a piece of scripture devotional, brooks plainly spoken language. He that doesn't want to repent, let him remain uncleansed. He that wants God, the word here speaks to you. It feels like a look directly from God into your heart. If you stand around disputing with man's wisdom, you'll have to concede or be left disputing to yourself—such is Rosenius declarative style of speech.

Each piece is a weighty expounding of God' word with Christ Jesus as the theme. Every piece of work is a gem to reveal the redemptive work of Christ unto you. Carl was with his father Anton as a missionary to the Lapps. Wherever Anton went revival broke out. Despite church discipline Anton succeeded by continuing "preaching the word".

Carl had started questioning God's existence at age eight. He put on a blind-fold and said within himself, God if you exist show me. He began moving through the barnyard, suddenly, filled with fear he couldn't move another step. He tore off the kerchief; one more step would've plunged him into a well. He knew he wasn't ready to die.

He earned the name of "Little Reformer" or "Luther the Second" because he was immersed in Luther's writings. Following in his father's footsteps he attended the local readers groups and was asked to lead it at only age fifteen. This angered his classmates who pelted the windows with mud while he spoke.

The devotions are weighty, stirring sermons that move man to examine their heart according to scripture. Rosenius was able to put his finger on the sore and examine it while redirecting your eyes to faith in Jesus Christ. It was the power of the gospel of the forgiveness of sins based on God's promises that is the theme of the work of Rosenius.
